Calabrese - Lust for Sacrilege

The brothers Calabrese have raised the bar once again with their heaviest and darkest album yet! From beginning to end,  both longtime fans will be ecstatic while new fans will be gained with this release. Yes, it is that good! The brothers are unstoppable with this their 6th album and show no signs of slowing down. Standouts include "The Dark is Who I Am", "Down in Misery", "Teenage Crimewave", "Flesh and Blood", the awesome title track "Lust for Sacrilege", "Serpentflame", "Gimme War", "New York Ripper", "Lords of the Wasteland" and "Drift into Dust". If anyone ever doubted the awesomeness of Calabrese then you'll be speechless with this release.

Deadpool: Dracula's Gauntlet (#7)

Here we have the finale where Deadpool takes his arm and stabs Dracula in the heart, uses Medusa to defeat Dracula's army and live happily ever after! Is there more? Of course! Read the books and you'll be smiling from ear to ear at what occurs between the pages as he finally finds love in the monster mash!

Deadpool: Dracula's Gauntlet (#6)

In this issue, the monsters, Thunderbolts, Blade, Deadpool and friends fight in New York where Dracula's wife to be tells him she's married to...DEADPOOL! She is turned to stone and when he confronts Dracula, he has his arm torn off. This is just funny, awesome, great and I can't get enough of this story! This is Deadpool awesomeness at its best.

Deadpool: Dracula's Gauntlet (#5)

Been a while eh? Well in this issue, Dracula is pissed sending the Frightful Four after Deadpool and his wife to be who, lock themselves in a church after being attacked by vampires in teddy bear costumes. If that makes sense to you then that is just the beginning of the story....needless to say it is enjoyable and fun like this whole story has been!

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. 1952 (#2)

Here we have the second issue of the new Hellboy series featuring his first mission. Here we have a priest who is killed, the agents almost lured into a trap, Big Red attacked by a demon monkey and then lured into a trap during the chase by an agent who closes the door, throwing a grenade in the building with Hellboy. Wall to wall action and we're only at issue 2! I can't wait to see how this all unfolds!

Misfits - Project 1950

Well, here we have the expanded edition of the first album featuring Only's vocals. According to the liner notes, Marky's drums were redone but, I don't think so. The original album is pretty good as Only and company tackle classic songs that one would find hard to hate...it's a good tight album that originally doesn't overstay its welcome. However, you move into the bonus tracks and the wheels come off. The only good song is the cover of the Elvis classic "(You're the) Devil in Disguise". I mean, who arranged these!? Only get this if you don't have the original album or if you're a completest who must own everything from the band because, if you are curious of how the new songs stack up, you'll be disappointed. Why doesn't Only record another original album? Devil's Rain was better then I expected and would love to see what he does next instead of rehashing or re-releasing what's already been done before.

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D 1952 (#1)

So, this is the first issue in what looks like to be an ongoing monthly series about Big Red. Sure, we have had glimpses before of his childhood or earlier missions through books, graphic novels and other B.P.R.D. mini series but, here we have his first mission. Have a bright eye youngster, a worried dad, shady agent, a drunk disapproving priest, and a town in the shadows....you have the beginnings of gold. It is no lie that I am a fan of Hellboy and cannot wait to see what they do next. However, until the next issue of Hellboy in Hell is released, this is a good idea by Mignola and company to give us a glimpse into the past of his life especially since this is supposed to lead up to his debut in 1993 and the death of his dad. I cannot wait to see the stories they tell to fill in the gaps leading up to that amazing story.

Dario Argento's Dracula (2012)

Now, I am a huge fan of Argento but, his last few films are lacking compared to his classics. This film is not the exception though it does have a couple of high notes. Dracula himself looks cool, so does Van Helsing, lots of very good looking women and some awesome kills. The story however is lacking. Somewhat predictable, unnecessary that does include elements from the novel but tends to stray into left field. Trust me when I say that Dracula doesn't need to become a giant insect to kill someone. There is not enough redeeming factors to even make this film enjoyable. Bits of lights through the darkness and a couple of great performances is not enough to save this movie....sadly, it sucks and not in a good way.

All New Ghost Rider (#10)

So, here is the battle between by the Blue Krue and the Ghost Riders! That's right folks, Johnny is back as Reyes learns to control Eli as he takes control of the power. There is the part with the teacher and the Russian mob that may lead to something more in future issues but, this was a fantastic end to a great storyline that really establish the character, the new Ghost Rider. Lets see where we head next or if Danny makes an appearance too.

Escape from New York (#2)

Well, the fun in the sun for Snake continues as he is captured when he refuses to join and put in a prison made from subs, escapes to a swamp and then gives himself up cause of his humanity....and a smoke. This is classic Snake in all his glory with awesome art! Get on this if you're a fan of the movies.

Army of Darkness (#2)

So, the fun continues with Ash in space as the metal hand is possessed, the deadites are attacking the astronauts and evil Ash is back baby! Hail to the fun that is this current series as this is beyond fun to read with great artwork. I wonder what is going to happen to the chosen one next? I guess we'll see what more trouble can get into in space.

Ghost (#11)

So, this is the second last issue of the current run of Ghost and what a run it has been! Tommy is dead, Vaughn and Elsa hook up and her life has been turned upside down. She is on a war path after she finds out that the ambush was all a setup and goes up the chain of command looking for clues, answers or anything. The finale promises to be explosive as she wrestles with everything including who she may become.

Robby Bloodshed - Under Me

What has been a big year for Robby Bloodshed, one of the hardest working men in the genre, he ends it on a high note with a new single! The new song "Under Me" is just awesome! Anthem for 2015 and a motto to live by! "Murder Mile" is a classic for the man, featuring the awesome Vagora makes is just amazing! One of my favorite songs he does! The final song is a cover of the Misfits classic "Horror Business" where he does his best Glenn Danzig impression and just nails the song making it his own. The single is killer and if you are not already a fan you suck and need to start listening to his music asap!

The Big Bad - The Big Bad

So the moon is out, out comes the signal and The Big Bad are loose with a new album! This album, no word of a lie, will have you singing along after just one listen. These guys have done it again! Some songs may be a little familiar if you have the live album but it is 30 plus minutes of ass kicking from beginning to end! Standouts that will have you howling along are "Shine the Signal", "We Own this Town", "The Lover's Lane Murders", "Out of the Morgue", "Shadowbrook Road", "Maniac Mansion", "Inside the Vial", "Lost in the Night"and "Seeking Souls". So, get on this album if you haven't already! You'll be howling along to their songs in no time....and if you don't I think deep down you're broken inside as they are one of the catchiest bands in the world ripping throats and taking names.
