Deadpool (#44)

So, Deadpool is no longer depressed,  his family and friends miss him, all is well with his wife, she wants world domination, Roxxon and others are waiting to attack and he is supposed to die in the next issue?. After some hiccups they finally have the merc with a mouth back on track and Marvel decides he has to die...again? There is so much happening that it will be hard to tie together all the ends in the final issue. ..if that's really what is happening. Oh! They are also saying that the next issue will be #250. ..damn! I can't believe it's that number already. I guess we'll have to see how it all ends.

The Goon: Once Upon A Hard Time (#2 of 4)

So, taking a different approach with the Goon buying a copy of The Island of Dr. Moreau and having the story being told in the background him about to confront two hit man isn't what you would expect from Eric Powell but, it works. The story is that of a more serious tone and yes, I do miss the jokes and antics of Franky but,  the story is that good and solid! No complaints here from me. Fans of The Goon series will be pleased.

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D 1952 (#4)

So, Hellboy and company run in to the lab and get into a fight with a couple of Frankensteins while being surrounded by Frankenmonkies only to find that an old Nazi foe (from the very first Hellboy story!!!) is behind all this? Can this story get any awesomer? I can't wait for the conclusion to see how it ends.

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. 1952 (#3)

Here we have an army of Frankenmonkies attacking the team while Hellboy is left in some rubble after having a run in with a grenade. Throw in the old predictions we used to hear throughout the Hellboy stories and you have the beginning of an awesome story. This series has me excited the more I read of it!

Nightbreed (#11)

So, the town is in pearl, Lori is under attack from the priest/Button Face, Cabal's  innards are flowing out and the other residents of Midian are there to fight. An awesome issue that continues the adventures of the Nightbreed that doesn't seem to be near an end yet as they throw in a new twist with every issue to continually keep you guessing what will happen next.

Gotham by Midnight (#5)

So the Specter is loose and may take all of Gotham with him while Corrigan and his team may have to make the ultimate sacrifice!  Throw in an appearance by Batman and an awesome ending and you get a little bit of an idea of the awesomeness that lays between the covers! Get on these books if you can!

All-new Ghost Rider (#12)

Here we have the conclusion of the origin of the new Ghost Rider! After some twists and turns getting to know the character (as well as a threat to cancel it) we are finally at a place where we know he's going out to battle crime, that he has Eli under control and that it will be a battle for him. Where will the story go next I know not but, it has me excited for more

Daniel Deluxe - Night Stalker

With some great sound clips and an 80s soundtrack feel, Daniel Deluxe delivers the goods on this release. With some good catchy music that grabs you, it feels like it isn't long enough! I think that is my only complaint as, it is just too short! It leaves you wanting more. Standouts include "Xenogenesis", "Exorcism", "Underwater Terror" and "Last Stand". This is a great release especially for those who like soundtracks of 80s horror films. Now, I guess I have to wait for more.

Nightcrawler - Strange Shadows

Are you like me and like your giallo films? Well, if you do, get on this new release by Nightcrawler that reminds you of the soundtracks to those classic Italian films. Intense, masterful music from beginning to end. At first, when I saw the track listing, I was taken aback by the fact that there were 4 remixes at the end (2 of them for the same song). However, those remixes sound good and don't make you feel like it's the same song AGAIN with an extra second or a sound. Standouts include "Macabre Serenade", "Una Notte Violenta", "Omicidio Nella Sala Rossa", "Péndulo Oculto", "Macabre Serenade (OGRE Remix)" and "Una Notte Violenta (Alessandro Parisi Remix)". So put this on and try not to think that a killer with black gloves is coming around the corner...I dare you.

Army of Darkness (#1992.1)

The second of the special 48 page issues features some short stories about Ash and his many adventures that include the dead including one that sets up the current series. If you are a fan, why not grab this? It is funny, what you would expect, action packed and awesomely groovy! Hail to the king baby because if they won't give us the movie, we can at least enjoy the comics that they keep turning out for us to read!

Army of Darkness: Convention Invasion

It took some time but I finally received my two special 48 page issues of Army of Darkness! First up, we find Ash battling that book at a...CONVENTION! To say Ash is out of place with all the cosplay and gamer talk is an understatement but, that doesn't stop him kicking ass and doing battle with the bones of a sea monster baby along with 3 convention goers. The story is fun, never over stays its welcome, makes fun of how, in the comic version of Ash his chin is a little bigger then it is supposed to (or is it?) and makes many more jokes along the way. Grab a copy if you haven't already, it's really that groovy.

Frankenstein Underground (#1)

Here we have the first issue in a new spin off from the pages of Hellboy, Frankenstein Underground. Following the events of Hellboy in Mexico Frankenstein is wounded and wonders into an old temple honoring the old gods where he meets a friend who heals him. Being a rare artifact,  he catches the eye of a collector...and some mayhem ensues! Mignola and company have taken my all-time favorite literary character EVER and have the beginnings of an awesome story with some awesome art. This looks closer to how Mary Shelly described the monster (minus the yellow skin). As a fan, I can't wait to read more! You should also grab yourself a copy too...or else you'll sorry.

Deadpool (#43)

Okay so, Deadpool is starting to become a bit like his old self (chewing off his arm to escape being chained up), saves Pasty Pot. ..I mean Trapster and the villagers as violently as possible. Oh! And he finds a coffin similar to his wife's and that Roxxon is selling them. Wonder what the Queen of the Monsters will do when she joins her hubby in the next issue.

Constantine (#23)

So, I've got caught up with the previous 22 issues and with this new one, John is saving everyone he's lost while killing his other himself. His family is pissed as he saves the day and he looks to make amends with some friends.  Is this the end? I doubt it. The comics have been good thus far but they took the classic Hellblazer character and changed him almost completely from what he was. Thus, it's good but missing that something to make it great like the original John Constantine was.

Big Trouble in Little China (#9)

So Lo Pan has dragged Jack Burton's soul into the hell with no escape while Egg and company look for a way to save him. Then, Lo Pan finds a way to escape torture by offering up Ol' Burton to go back up to the surface. ..How will he get out of this one?

Escape from New York (#4)

So, Florida nukes themselves,  separating them from the US...and Snake is on the run again! This is an awesome treatment of a classic character that is loved by many as we now head to...SERBIA!  Wonder how he'll get out of this one.

Nightbreed ( #10)

Here, Boone comes face to face with the enemy. ..and mayhem is unleashed on the streets as the monsters prepare to go to new Midian with money made from the book about them.  You gotta love where they are taking the story so far and drooling to see where the story heads next.

Nightbreed ( #9)

Following the events of the movie, the Nightbreed are on the run as an old foe is after them...the writing and art are brilliant as they pick up where Clive left off. The series as a whole has been brilliant thus far!

Nightbreed (#8)

Okay so, these issues give us back stories of the monsters and characters while building up to what happens in the movie...BRILLIANT! Leading into the director's cut this is a great lead in...I wonder what they'll do next.

Wednesday 13 - Monsters of the Universe: Come Out and Plague

To say I get excited for a new Wednesday 13 release is an understatement....I am more like a teenage girl who has to run to the store to grab their copy screaming hysterically who can't wait to put it on, study and memorize the words. Thus, we have his new release...the dreaded CONCEPT ALBUM! In Rock, these can be really beyond amazing or it can be so bad that not even die hard fans want it. So, are you ready for my verdict? No need to worry, this album kicks ass as Wednesday has done it again, bringing the monsters down from Space to take over the planet while churning out 14 sick ass songs! He is in classic, top notch form delivering what you love about the man while kicking your ass for the aliens! Standouts include "Keep Watching the Skies", Astro Psycho - Galactic Blood-Drive", "Come Out and Plague", "I Ain't Got Time to Bleed", "Serpent Society", "Bombs, Guns, Gods - This is a War", "Planet Eater: Interstellar 187", "I Love Watching You Die", "Into the Crop Circle", "Over Your Dead Body" and "Monsters of the Universe". If you're not already a fan, this may not change your mind but, if you are, this may make you giddy like a teenage girl as well!

Army of Darkness (#4)

So, Ash is in space, fighting his bad self again and making heavy metal references as he takes down the bad guys only for him to cast a spell that brings the evil to life in the satellite....which escapes! Sounds about right to me! This sets up the finale where Ash must save the world from evil before everyone on Earth becomes a Deadabite. Great story and great fun for all...enough said!

Return of the Living Deadpool (#2)

Well Deadpool and the girl are on the run in a world overrun by zombies and....Deadpools? That's right folks! The whacky adventure continues as Deadpool learns what they are actual doing, a subplot is introduced and a train goes boom. Thus far, this storyline is far superior to the main Deadpool story so, get on it to see what all the fun and gore is all about or the Merc with a Mouth won't shut up (like he ever will!).
