KISS Vampirella (#1)
1970s Los Angeles with Vampirella and her band along with KISS who may come across something so much bigger then they could think of as it could be the end of Rock and Roll along with the world as a whole. This is an interesting issue that has you wanting more with great art as we get the seeds being sown but the tree hasn't started to grow...yet! This are about to get hotter than Hell in the city of angels as we get a glimpse of what is going on and how a vampire from outer space along with the hottest band in the world save the world.
Hellboy and the B.P.R.D. 1953
We have another early Hellboy story that has him coming face to face with a hanging witch and dead Romans in the first story and 2 monsterous grave robbers in the second story. Both are great and simple stories that quick reads that any fan of big red will enjoy. The art is always outstanding as I expect nothing less from the Mignola universe of characters. Get a copy of this one shot as you will not be sorry about this!
Lobster Johnson: The Pirate's Ghost (#3 of 3)
This issue is action packed as we have the Lobster riding on a ghost ship to serve justice! This is a cool issue with great art and lots of action as it ties up everything nicely in the end. The Mignolaverse is a great comic universe with so much going on and so many different characters that interchange so easily. I love it and you should to! Get yourself a copy of this story to see what I am talking about.
The Visitor: How and Why He Stayed (#4)
In this issue, the alien focuses less on Hellboy and more on his wife that is getting older and passes away she was the only thing keeping him grounded to Earth. The issue is a strong story that has you flipping each page as it pulls at each heart string. In a world where there is so much evil, he has one good positive thing. Now that good thing is gone. Great art and story as it all comes to an end next issue.
KISS - Forever
This 48 page special takes each member of KISS and place them at different points in history. The Catman during the era caveman, the Demon during the fall of Rome, Star Child during the time of pirates and Space Ace during Apollo 13. The stories are well done in that they are not forced or that outrageous. The art is also top notch and it is a quick read even though it is 48 pages. It is not over saturated with material that makes each story over stay their welcome. If you are a fan of the band, get this! This is the essence of KISS outside of the awesome music that they make. If you know the band then you know what I am talking about.
