Puppet Master (#19)

So Tulon and his original puppets invalid a cult to see why a puppet he saw burn on stage has magically reappeared in West Virginia. Also, his other puppets are on the search for some answers of their own. This is the beginning of something as the guys at Action Lab do another great job with the issue as I can't wait to see where all this leads. Let the little bits of mayhem loose as the puppets are on a new adventure!

Tales from the Crypt (#1)

The legend is back with all new awesome stories featuring awesome artwork! Though it originally started as a comic, when I think of Tales from the Crypt I think of the shows from my childhood. Later, I checked out the original stories and loved it just as much! Like I said earlier, these new stories are awesome! They have that old school feel as in what you would expect from the series and the classics that came before it while updating it for the here and now not to scare people away. I love what they have done so far and I hope that they continue to do it more in the upcoming issues. Seriously, check it out people, so much to love in these new stories!

Ghost Rider (#1)

So this story was...okay. The parts with Robbie were awesome! The art and story for that part was awesome! The only drag down? The parts featuring the Totally  (really not very) Awesome  (dreadful) Hulk. Yea... I don't like that character at all and he drags down the story. However, the ending looks promising and a crossover looks inevitable with this new godawful Hulk and the all new female Wolverine. I hope that this new Hulk is barley in it as he just drags it all down. Sorry,  not a fan of the character at all! Love the new Ghost Rider though... he's awesome!

Spook House (#2)

This is the second issue in Eric Powell's new series for children. The stories are funny and simple as you can't help but enjoy the work of Powell and company. Is this for children? I guess so but, there is plenty to love for all ages! Any fan of Powell would love! So, don't be afraid of what it says, you'll love it just the same as you laugh at the simplicity of some of the jokes!

Hellblazer (#4)

Well, John and Chas are in some deep trouble and not just with the genies that are out for everyone! This is a great story with great art that evolves the story with Swamp Thing as we get deeper and deeper while evolving story! Why is all this happening? Looks like John may have an idea in the next issue or at least a plan to figure out what the hell is happening! Get on this series as soon as you can!

In Memoriam: Don Calfa

This year may be coming to an end but, the heartache continues to roll as we loose another legend in Don Calfa. Though he was in a number of movies like A Weekend at Bernies and recurring or guest spots on TV shows through his long career, he may be best remembered by people on this blog as the doctor in the 1985 classic Return of the Living Dead. He was awesome and funny in that role as it helped to make that movie so unforgettable. He was an awesome actor who could make so much with so little and make you laugh with how he did it! So, R.I.P. Don Calfa, you will be missed as this year we have already lost so many awesome people. Your passing may be untimely but the laughs you gave us will never be forgotten.

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D 1954: The Unreasoning Beast

This one shot has Hellboy and company dealing with a pissed off monkey ghost seeking revenge. For what? You will have to read to find out! This is a fantastic read along with great art as, you may have found out I am a fan of Big Red when the issues come out! So get on it world and read it because I am not going to spoil the goods inside as there is a lot going on in this one shot! Great work!

Ghostbusters International (#10)

Off to Iceland our heroes head as they have found the book with a bunch of ghosts who seem to like only one part of the Queen classic "Bohemian Rhapsody". This seems to be building to the conclusion as the evil wizard makes plans to bring the world to their knees at midnight while the others look for a way to bring Egon back! This series has been fantastic and a great read with great art! Feels fantastic to finally be caught up on it! So, in a snitch with the fate of the world on the line people, who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters International (#9)

Well, it's off to 2 parts of the world to get what they need to find this book after an ultimatum is made to get Egon back. Ghosts? Plenty! Laughs? Tons! Peter getting slimed? You bet your ass! There is a lot happening as the two artists team up to bring us this book as IDW does a great job with letting us know who to call when something is strange in, not just your neighborhood but, the world as well.

Ghostbusters International (#8)

H Ghostbusters are in a pickle and have to enlist Egon (of the Real Ghostbusters) to save their Egon! They learn the reason that they were hired and it's all hands on deck to save the day! Great art and story by the team at IDW as they do it right with plenty of laughs and action along the way! The world is in trouble as there is a book of spells that can control the devil with an evil wizard who wants it so, common people,  you know what I am going to say... who you gonna call?

Wednesday, 30 November 2016

Ghostbusters International (#7)

So, off to the land of the Irish and Walter Peck has Ray, Winston and Peter join on a more personal job. Through in a curse and a banshee along with Peter making a deal that may or may not come back to haunt the Ghostbusters in the future and, you have the makings of an awesome story. Throw in the ending where we FINALLY get some answers and yea... it sets up more fun and antics as the boys return home from the world tour that they have been on. I love what IDW has done an excellent job with the franchise! Common, who you gonna call?

Ghostbusters International (#6)

Well, now I am able to start catching up on the recent Ghostbusters series and I begin with this gem! Though they change artists for this single issue, there are plenty of laughs to be had as we have a ghost causing havoc and Egon, Mel and Kylie take them on! Throw in a weird call from Walter Peck to the boys out in France and yea... so much going on! It is an awesome read and, like I said, funny! The art is pretty awesome and IDW does the license PROUD! So, again, who are you gonna call?

Puppet Master (#18)

So, we get some questions and some answers as the puppets are turned into weapons of destruction! The issue ends with them on the hunt and without a master! This is a fantastic story as we end another storyline while beginning a whole new one. Lots of stuff happening as the team at Action Lab have outdone themselves again with their product and use of the license!

Acey Slade - Valentines for Sick Minds

Needless to say, Acey Slade is a legend! The man has slung his axe or bass in such bands like Dope, Murderdolls, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Trashlight Vision, Wednesday 13, Amen and, most recently, the Misfits during their reunion concerts! So, when he released his new solo album I had to have it in my life because I knew it would be awesome...and I was right! This is down and dirty Rock with that Punk edge as he takes what you know and what his previous bands did making it his own. Acey is Acey as his style complements so much and his attitude is fun and top notch! No matter what style he tackles, he can do it and do it with his own flare that makes you not help but love him. What can I say? From the first time I heard live Murderdolls tracks and saw videos of him I have been a fan! There is nothing he can't do! Standouts include the whole release! I am not joking as it is that good! Fantastic listen from beginning to end! So, support this legend in any endeavor he tackles next as it will be awesome no matter what! I just hope we don't have to wait a while to hear more solo work by the man!

Puppet Master (#17)

So let's add the puppets, wretlers, guts, blood and the strange dude and you have the makings of another winner from the people of Action Lab! The original puppets make an appearance as some of it all is starting to make sense as the cards are starting to be shown but not everything is being given away there is so much going on in these pages that you really got to read it to fully grasp what is happening! This is all leading to something HUGE as you have basically 3 storylines going on but done in a way that it is not confusing or overpowering. Get on it as soon as you can to catch up with the series!

Thursday, 24 November 2016

Puppet Master (#16)

So, the Bodega Inn has new ownership and the puppets along with their master in tow watch over everyone when someone walks in that is not right...especially when the puppet's souls go missing? There is a lot happening as this begins a new storyline and I can't help but wonder where they are heading with it. A lot of potential and I am excited to read as I have loved very much what Action Lab has done this far!

Puppet Master (#15)

So, the battle and storyline both meet their conclusion in this action packed issue! Great work and awesome artwork by the team at Action Lab that keep on keeping on with the awesomeness of the franchise. They do it justice and I am glad with the work that is being done! Can't wait to dive into the next issue as I catch up with the series as past issues trickle in!

Rock and Roll Biographies: White Zombie

So, this black and white comic tells the story of White Zombie from beginning to end as well as the story of Rob Zombie after the break up of the band. The artwork is awesome and the story is detailed as they show a band that rose to the top and quit before they could become has beens or started to suck. This is a great pickup for any fan of the band as there is so much and yet, so little out there in the world by them. No one shall ever forget the power that is White Zombie who were always more human than a human!

Puppet Master (#13)

As I get caught up with the Puppet Master series, Anapa is set free as he played the puppets like a master! This is a fantastic story as Action Lab does a good job with it and the art to continue to bring this beloved franchise to life! There is plenty of stabbing and blood in this issue as we find out what was really behind the deal that they made all along. Just fantastic!

Puppet Master (#14)

Anapa is back with a vengeance! However, they may have something up their little sleeves as Toloun has a fall safe it seems! Great action packed issue as Action Lab keeps turning out the hits with this use of the franchise! Charles Band would approve as I do! Great read, great art and lots happening that you cannot put it down easily! Get on this series! Seriously!

Michale Graves - Camp Scare-Away

So, the blurb on the back says there is something extra but, in essence, it is a solo acoustic performance by the man around a campfire with some lucky fans. The material focuses on his solo material from Vagabond to When Worlds Collide ignoring his first 3 solo albums and his Misfits material. I am happy he stayed away from the Misfits stuff as this lets his own solo work shine. However, I am a little bummed and shocked that his first 3 outings are ignored aloned with the material from Graves the band and Gotham Road. Graves is an amazing song writer and sometimes we forget that as people remember him only for that material. Could they have done a little extra? Maybe but, then it would have been cheesy to have Michale actually pretend to be scared and that's why he sings. Creates a nice little build up that makes you expect one thing but, you get something better instead. Great release as I recommend this release for any fan to check out. The music shines as the simplicity of it all allows you to truly appreciate how good of a song writer Michale Graves actually is.

Hrabia - Release the Bats

Time to release the bats as Hrabia is coming straight for your throat all the way from Poland! The music is just amazing as it comes from the speakers taking no prisoners! With an intro that brings to mind old school Black Sabbath, this release is more Horror Punk I think the whole EP is under 15 mins MAX. All 4 tracks are just amazing here as it is difficult to pick stand out tracks as they just hit hard, fast and having you sing along in no time at all! So release the bats as you can't keep them locked up forever! Hrabia can get it done acoustically or electronically; so pick your poison as they are just awesome! Oh! And the art by DC of the Bastards is just fantastic! Great release all around!

Zombina and the Skeletones - In Sinistereo (Part Three)

Remember last year when Zombina and the Skeletones released 2 EPs quickly that just melted your face off? Well, they are back with Part 3 after taking a year away from the studio to do it again! Part New Wave, part Punk, part My Chemical Romance (as "The Stakeout" brings to mind "Mama") but all Horror and all fun! All 4 tracks are just fantastic as they are short, sweet, and fun to listen to! You will be singing along and grooving to these songs by these legends in absolutely no time! I hope now that it doesn't take them another year to record a Part 4 as my pallet is wet and needs more! Seriously, they would kill for you so why not give this new record a listen?

Lord of Gore (#1)

This is what happens when a Horror movie franchise comes to life and starts taking out the people who have given it life! In this book, the Headsman takes out people while the screen writer is hurt after loosing both his girlfriend and his job all in minutes of each other. Who is behind all this? We don't know but it gets bloody and gorey quickly! Great art and writing done by the team at Devil's Due as the book has flair and zest. I cannot wait to see what happens next!

Glitterbomb (#1)

WOW! What a first issue! Hollywood has been described as a monster but, there is a new monster on the streets as the town just got real really fast! A middle aged mom who was once a star is looking for her next gig when something finds her instead. What is it? Not sure yet but, there is guts and gore everywhere! This first issue was fantastic as I cannot wait to read the second issue! Yes! It's that good of a debut! Get on it folks! The guys at Image have done fantastic work!

Evil Dead 2: Dark Ones Rising (#2)

So, what a glorious mess the world is as Ash and company look to save the world from the Dark Ones eating it up by heading to New Orleans. What follows shouldn't really shock you but will make you laugh as it can only happen to the chosen one on his journey! This second issue is fantastic as I cannot wait for the conclusion to see how he gets out of this one and defeats the new evil that the world faces. The book of the dead is not in play so, let us see what he can do without it...groovy baby.

Evil Dead 2: Dark Ones Rising (#1)

Yes, today is an Evil Dead kind of day as I get caught up on the issues of the series! In this issue, following the events of Ash being sucked away into another dimension to get rid of the threat to the world, the girl burns down the barn in order to move on from their adventures. Cue Ash reappearing and the Dark ones not far behind. What bad has been unleashed unto the Earth? Read the next issue to find out as this is well done with great art. I cannot wait to read the second issue!

Evil Dead 2: Revenge of the Martians

Yes, this is another one and done by Scapegoat as Ash finds out just how real the War of the Worlds really was while being an Uber driver as he comes across a secret government facility. Just how does he defeat the dead this time? The answer lies within a test tube of more dead stuff! This is a fun and fantastic read for any fan of the series as it is just fun to read! Great art to give some sugar to baby as well!

Evil Dead 2: Revenge of Dracula

Remember what I said about Ash vs history's greatest villains? How about Ash vs Dracula! As these two heavyweights lock in battle then assist each other then back against each other in the story that is very much the Ash character as the king gets himself in a mess very easily. Again, a funny and very well thought out one and done by Scapegoat as they are doing a good job with the chosen one that will make any long time fan happy. So, hail to the king baby!

Evil Dead 2: Revenge of Jack the Ripper

So, Ash has gone to Hollywood and is working on a movie when the Ex-Mortis comes into play causing all sorts of mayhem in its wake. The blood and gore flows as there is a sense of mystery with Jack the Ripper is running around his own movie killing people! The art and story are good and funny as Ash is here to save the day yet again....with his liver this time instead of his boomstick! Scapegoat does a great job with these one and done deals as they are very well thought out in putting Ash in new situations against some of history's greatest villains. However, Dynamite does a better job with the Ash character overall, I am quite entertained by what these guys are putting out as well, groovy!

HELP THE MICHALE GRAVES BAND!

So, as you already have heard, on Halloween the Michale Graves band lost all their gear and merch! This is a disgusting act towards legends in our music! Help them recoup what they have lost as Michale Graves, Loki and JV are some of the most stand-up and awesome guys around. If you can donate, here is the link  https://www.gofundme.com/michale-graves-stolen-gear-fund . If you cannot, please share this around.

Hellboy and the B.P.R.D: 1954 (#2)

It doesn't take a genius to figure out how much a fan I am of Hellboy and the Mignolaverse in general! In the sequel to the previous issue, Hellboy comes face to face with...NAZIS! Those bastards never give up as they try to find a new way to take over the world. Obviously, Hellboy defeats them but, it is funny while it happens. The art and story are top notch as we get this glance into his past as this is still a young Hellboy screaming BOOM when he hits anything. The crew have done it again with Big Red!

HELP THE STELLAR CORPSES!

Hey, by now you may have heard what happened to the Stellar Corpses! If you can, please go to https://www.gofundme.com/stellar-corpses-fund to help them replace what they lost! If you cannot, please share the link!

Lucifer (#11)

The former angel of light has returned home amongst chaos and an angry father. This is all leading to a huge battle as HE has come back and is acting weird as he wants the whole world gone. It looks like Maze and Lucifer are the only ones to stop him in this awesome issue with great art that just builds and builds on this storyline that started with one thing but has grown into something all together different and much better. Great job Vertigo! You are showing why he is one of your best characters!

Wolf Cop (#1)

Things are HOG WILD in the premier issue of Wolf Cop as it follows our new favorite B-Movie Horror hero after the original film as he travels across Canada and adventure comes calling! Everything that you love from the film is in this book and the action and art are top notch! Dynamite have done it again taking on this cult character ahead of a second movie and building new stories around him. Now, I cannot wait for the second issue or movie as this is the coolest new character on the Horror block! Get on it folks!

The Hellblazer (#3)

So an old evil has come to haunt London and come after both Constantine and Swamp Thing. You may have heard of the djinn but, they are not legend at all when they are taking control of the city. The story and art are good as they carry on the momentum of the storyline as everything builds bit by bit to create suspense. Throw in a great tribute to Lemmy and the awesome art and you have yourself a good read! Get on this series as we get the Hellblazer that we all know and love back!

Spook House (#1)

Yes, I am a huge fan of Eric Powell and this new collection is stories meant for children. There is plenty to love here as the stories are funny and the art is awesome! One of the stories will call to mind a particular movie that YOU may know with Eric Powell's humor thrown in and certain parts changed as it is meant for kids. Great work! I cannot wait for issue 2!

Punisher (#1 Annual)

So, the Punisher finds himself in Detroit on Halloween looking for a cop killer while another cop follows him with questions of his own. Maybe not supernatural but it leaves you asking a question while the blood flows and the brain splatters like any Horror movie as the Punisher looks for his own brand of justice. The art and story are fantastic as, there isn't much to say so, the action flows from page to page. Marvel did a great job with this special for Halloween right down to the awesome cover! Even if you don't like the character, you need a copy just for the cover alone!

Kiss (#1)

Kiss is my all time favorite band and I love comics so, put the 2 together and you usually have a winner! Enter the first issue of the new KISS series by Dynamite where there is a world without heroes after the Great War that pushed civilization underground. How does Kiss play into this? Four teens are looking for more then saftey and one push of a button may have given them more than they bargain for. Great art and story so far as I cannot wait for the next issue AND there is tons of hints, lyrics, bits in the art that will keep long time fans happy and searching for what they can find. This was a fantastic first issue and I hope that the ones following it will be just as good. Kiss army approved!

HELP OUT MICHALE GRAVES AND THE STELLAR CORPSES!

So, in case you haven't heard, both equipment and merch were stolen from the Michale Graves band and the Stellar Corpses in 2 separate cities less than 24 hours from each other! This is sickening and disgusting! If you have ANY information regarding the whereabouts of the missing items PLEASE contact the bands. Rocky Horror Picture Show: Let's Do The Time Warp Again

So, let me preface this by saying how much I love the original. The original Rocky Horror Picture Show is one of my all time favorite movies that I don't know how many times I have seen (enough to know every word of the soundtrack) and was VERY skeptical when they announced a remake of the movie. This is a movie that so many love AND are just as obsessed, if not more so, than me. So, I found the beginning well done as, it's basically saying, we are going to try for something different. At times it seems like a shot for shot remake and at other times it does try to stretch out to be its own thing though it is a made for TV movie for Fox so, a lot of stuff had to change. The positives are the singing and songs were great (very hard to screw up the classics) and most of the casting was well done. I am glad that they included Tim Curry as, he helped define what made the original so great. I also loved how they had the "audience" taking in the movie. They captured the spirit of the fans perfectly and helped to pump us up to get us excited for parts. Now, the bad. The guy who played Riff Raff (who's name escapes me at the moment and I am too lazy to look it up on the internet) seemed like he was making fun of the part. There's a difference between having fun and not taking it seriously....and with such an iconic role you should be taking it seriously instead of making fun of everything. Same goes for the guy playing Dr. Scott. He seems to be making fun of the movie instead of playing a critical role in the film. Also, the most iconic part, during the "Time Warp" it fell flat! Like right on its face and it was hard to recoup from!  This is a part that is treasured, iconic, loved and maybe the part that people know when you mention the movie. THE DANCERS HAD A HARD ENOUGH TIME DANCING TO A SONG THAT TELLS YOU WHAT TO DO! IT STARTS WITH A JUMP TO THE LEFT NOT FALLING ON THE FLOOR! So many instances where they seemed to build to something and make it good then, fall flat! It did start good and there are moments but, I think it is when I hear the songs. The songs made the movie and helped to save what a disaster that it really could have been. Overall, I'd have to say the movie was not a total disaster but not that great. If I graded it, it would be D MAYBE a C as the original is fare more superior then this new one. Hollywood, listen to me, GET ORIGINAL IDEAS INSTEAD OF REMAKING EVERYTHING! It's hard and not worth it to remake something iconic and loved. It will never come close to the original and impossible to capture what made it so iconic originally. Why do the time warp again if it ends up like this?

Cancerslug - Symphony of Savagery

There is talk that this may be the final Cancerslug album. I truly hope that is a lie but, if it isn't, what a way to go! I think this may be their longest album to date but, it's amazing! Some of the songs you may already know and love but, you'll fall in love with them all over again! Everything you about Alex Story and company are on full display in this release as they lay waste to anything and everyone in their sight! Needless to say, Cancerslug have done it again with this album as I cannot even pick standouts on this latest release as it just leaves you breathless and wanting more! So, if this truly the final album, what a bang to go out on but, if it's not, I cannot wait to hear what these guys drop next! The symphony and savagery that Cancerslug have released under this pale moon light is just phenomenal as longtime fans will just eat it up and new fans will see why we love this band so much!

Gallowmere - Ebbing Season

Though the name of the band may not sound familiar to you, how about the name of Jesse Nameless? That's right, the man who rocks his axe currently in Vagora, Robby Bloodshed and Revisited has released this album to show you that he can rip apart anyone in his path! Doing everything himself, Gallowmere's debut is more Metal than Punk but rocking and Horror none the less! There is nothing this guy cannot do as he invokes memories of Vagora, Blitzkid but, with that Metal edge while making the sounds his own. Asking me to list standouts are you? Try the whole thing man! Jesse is an awesome musician! He has written some awesome songs in Vagora but, here he shows you, that he can do everything and anything he wants! I cannot wait to hear a followup to this as, like every good Horror movie, a sequel is needed! A must on this season of darkness and Horror!

Blast from Oblivion - Bloodlust

Though not the same as the other single, "Bloodlust" shows us another side of this one man band as he delievers another awesome track! Is this all leading to the next full length? I have no clue but, with each track that drops I keep drooling at the thought of what this man is cooking up next musically! Go check it out as this track sounds darker then the previous single that was more on the screaming guitars. Both good and both showing the reach this guy has in his music. Wonder what we will see next from him!

Mummula - The Rise of Mummula

Remember when I first started this blog and told you to keep your ears peeled as Mummula was a band to watch? Can I say I told you so now or later? Three years later, we get the first full length (second release) from Mummula who have decided it was time to rise, shine and wreak havoc with their Horror Rock, Punk, Surf music! Listening to the lyrics, you cannot help but laugh, sing along and just fall in love with this band! They are so awesome that I cannot believe that it took them so long to give us some new music! This is just fun, Horror music from beginning to end! Even the blackest of hearts will love the sounds coming from Mummula! Standouts include "The Rise of Mummula", "Mystery Mountain", "Mummula vs. the Moon Men", "Hex Marks the Spot", "Percepto", "Let's Get Invisible", "Black Lagoon", "My Baby's Turning into a Wolfman", "Mummenschvantz Waltz", "7th Guest", "Hang Ten", "Iggy's Night Out" and the re-recording of "Ed Woodn't "Oh No, No, No)". This is an awesome album so, you should get on it before Mummula puts hex on you and YOUR baby turns into a wolfman too.. I mean, that's not why I am giving this album an awesome review oh no... though it does smell like wet dog in here! It is an awesome album either way and you should really give it a listen...it's perfect!

In Memoriam: Steve Dillon

The man who gave us the original image of the Preacher along with his amazing art with the Punisher has passed. Though I do not know the full details of his passing, I am sadden by it. The guy was an AMAZING artist who brought us a whole new world! Think about the awesomeness and now they are trying to bring that same world to TV. He helped to create an iconic character while working on others.  Even CM Punk has called the Punisher series the greatest comic book series ever and, I will say, that it is up there. So, we say goodbye to a legend of the industry in a year that we have said goodbye to too many legends already, you will be missed as your legend grows as new generations discover your work! R.I.P. man!

The Bastards - Being Human

Those Bastards have done it again with another awesome release! If you like your Horror Rock acoustically, check these bastards out! They have taken their sound and upped the bar! The sounds are well put together, catchy and just flat out amazing! I cannot say enough good things about this album! Seriously, check these guys out if you haven't already as they really are that good! Standouts include "The Final Days", "Earth Invaders", "Toxic Teens", "Maniac", "Being Human", "Voices", "Being Human", "Outsiders", "The Atomic Brain", "Falling Apart" and "Left Behind". This is probably their best work yet and I cannot wait to hear what these ghouls come up with next as being human ain't easy but, they make sounding awesome sound effortless!

The Brickbats - Return of the Living Brickbats

The first time I heard about these guys, Jason Trioxin of Mister Monster mentioned them as an inspiration... so naturally I had to check them out and I was blown away! After a couple of one off shows this has turned into a full blown reunion with their first album in 15 years and these ghouls are showing no sign of rust as this monster has risen from the grave to kick ass and rock out! The songs are awesome, catchy, the musicianship is top notch as it takes you back to the time these guys ruled the NYC nighttime. They flow so nicely into each other while shattering, splattering and splatter some more right out of your speakers! Standouts include "Scare the Pants Right Off of You", "Wolfman on the Moon", "At the End of the World", "Scream Queen", "Horrified", "Witch Call", "Shatter Splatter Splatter - Part 1 & 2", "Jump my Bones", "Strange Basements" and "Zombie Wrecked the Party". This is an awesome album that will have you wondering why they went away so long! Now, if I could get replacements for the crappy sounding mp3s I have with some re-releases that would be pretty awesome too! The Brickbats are back so, take notes kids, as they are innovators and legends.

Chimichanga: The Sorrow of the World's Worst Face (#1)

I know I have proclimed my admiration for the work of Eric Powell before so, don't be shocked as I sign the praises of Chimichanga! This is a sweet story of Lula helping out a stranger but being betrayed by a guy with an ugly face (I bet I've seen uglier!). I wanna see where this a goes as the art is great and the story is funny! A big difference from the Goon but, entertaining non the less. Get a copy of this as Powell has done it again! Awesome job!

Puppet Master: Halloween 1989 - The Creature

Set in 1989 at the Bodega Inn, we get a treat of a story as it is quick, silent and bloody as the puppets protect their master from a mysterious creature from the caves below. The issue is fast paced and the art is awesome! Again, I say this a lot about the stuff from Action Lab but, I think these would have also been great movies or shorts as these are great editions to the franchise! I may not need to pull your strings anymore for you to check out the goods but, in case you don't,  my old pal Blade won't mind poking you and stabbing you until you read these awesome issues!

The Lost Boys (#1)

Forget the crappy sequel that followed 25 years after the original! Tale the characters that you loved in the original and put them in a new story instead! This new sequel is better as vampires return to the town but, they are a lot different then what came before! This is the true aftermath of the original film where not everything is happily ever after! Great artwork and story as it has me wanting more and more as I wait for the next issue next month! Sink your teeth into this as soon as possible people! This ride looks like it's going to be good!

Godzilla: Half Century War (#1)

So, for a dollar, we have a reprint of Godzilla: Half Century War (#1) for your enjoyment. And how enjoying it is as we hear about Godzilla's first attack on Tokyo from the military men below and how they thought they got rid of him...but didn't. The art and story are great as, for a dollar, you won't complain. This will also make you want to grab the full collection to see how it all ends! This is the king of monsters at a low price, so stomp over to your local comic book store for a copy asap!

Hillbilly (#2)

Wow is all I can say after reading this fantastic second issue! The story continues as the Buzzard from The Goon makes an appearance in this story filled with witchcraft and greed. This was another fantastic read as I am really getting into this story! Powell has done it again creating a character you can't help but fall for! Check it out for yourself if you don't believe me. I may have gotten it because his name was on the issue but I am glad because it is so much more then I expected! Now,  when does the third issue drop so I can read that?
