The world has lost one of the most creative front men in shock rock/metal history with the passing of Dave Brockie, also known as Oderus Urungus, of GWAR. Now, some people have looked down upon GWAR as being some throwaway, none sense, joke of a band and though they are entertaining, they are much smarter then they appear. Creative story telling, fun characters, pushing the envelope with controversial onstage antics and lyrics that would make any house mom weep....they may have painted on abs but they'll kick your ass! Now, if GWAR calls it quits, we'll all understand since it was his vision, his songs and his stories that have propelled the band through these years but, as he returns to the planet with the other Scumdogs, part of us will hope that the band continues in some form....a world without GWAR is a hard world to live in....trying to put into words what they bring and what Dave Brockie brought to the world with his character Oderus Urungus is hard.....but the fans know what that is, and that's what we'll miss.
