You're Next (2011)

I've been hearing about this movie since its debut a couple of years ago at TIFF causing a huge buzz. Now, that it has finally hit DVD, was it worth the wait? YOU BET YOUR ASS! THIS MOVIE WAS SIMPLY BAD FREAKING ASS! Erin takes being the final girl to a whole new level as the family is picked off one by one by people in animal masks. What is the motive you may ask? Well, you'll have to find out! Is it an inside job or is it random? Is it neighbors? You find out soon enough but it doesn't take away from the brilliance of the film! All I can say is that the fox doesn't say too much and when the mayhem starts at dinner, it doesn't let up. Normally I am not a fan of home invasion movies as they can come across as very paint by numbersish but, this one was so well done. You feel that no place is safe for them as arrows come flying in and razor wire hangs in front of the door....and that's just the beginning. As you can tell, I REALLY enjoyed it. Oh! Keep your eye on the scene with the blender....it is awesome! The ending with the cop is funny and Sharni Vinson as Erin will have you falling for her in no time!
